Cy ( Really) Young

Nov 19th- SF Giants Pitcher Tim Lincecum became the first pitcher in history to win 2 Cy Young awards in his first two full seasons. Starting the press conference the young pitcher was not his normal full of confidant self. He was more downtrodden and his severe lack of a tan showed even more then usual. Having many awkward moments and not being able to run away Lincecum stated "way to cap that off" talking about his Oct 30th traffic stop in which he was found with possession of a small amount of marijuana. Lincecum is still waiting to have the drug charges dropped by a judge. Still the young star is well on his way to being one of the best pitchers of all time and a huge future hall of fame contender and still has a lot of growing up to do.

I think a lot of growing up has to do with the experiences you go through, whether that be good or bad," Lincecum said.

"You talk about guys like Matt Cain, who grew up before everybody else did, he's like 30 years old, and he's the same age as me." Matt Cain is actually slightly younger then Lincecum but you would not know that just by talking to them."There's different people," Lincecum said. "They go through different experiences that shape them. And it's unfortunate also that you have to go through bumps, like I am going through, to get to where you think you need to be."That's just about changing yourself and looking for the right road to take instead of making it hard on myself or hard on yourself."

Lincecum needs to remain candid and open about the charges and they will all blow over soon. His excellence will far overshadow the minor violations. ---Smokescreen ---

Hey Smokey is smokescreen like an alter ego? Im enjoying it, Ice cream and baseball, altho I think tim lincecum has just been getting lucky. He has had a few good years but hes going to slip soon I would never go as far as saying he is on his way to being one of the greats

I don't find this remarkable, or worthy of attention. Behavior of athletes was far worse in the past. The good old boy network of sports reporters covered up mountains of misbehavior. With the internet, gossip news, and phones cameras, it's not possible today. In an HD world, you see all the warts and imperfections.

I agree, what I find crazy is the guy just won a Cy young award for the second time in his second full season and yet the whole focus is drawn twords the fact that he got pulled over and had some marijuana on him.. Heaven forbid that he got pulled over and they found roids in his car
