The Lafayette Reservoir

Today was a beautiful day for a walk so I decided to take a nice long walk around the lake...The hike around the Lafayette Reservoir is roughly 3 miles and it is filled with hills and valleys full of beautiful vistas...It is a walk well worth the exercise ...While I was there I got some great pictures from different vistas around the lake ...The scenery at this place is really beautiful and the entire trail around the lake is a paved 2way path making it a very enjoyable hike...There are also restroom outhouses spaced along the trail all the way around the lake which is always cool...The Lafayette Reservoir has a $6.00 entree fee for the day or you can use the parking meter for a shorter visit...All of the State Parks  and or Reservoirs in the Diablo area have entrance fees but this is one of the most worthwhile six dollar walks in the entire Bay Area...Truly a unique walking experience...

Didn't they find a crocodile in there one time? I saw the kayakers picture and I remembered LOL. It is a beautiful walk. Took my 82 year old Mom for a walk around the lake last week. We plan to go again as soon as possible. There are lots of places to sit and rest along the trail. This place is very wheel chair friendly including one of the fishing piers. Expensive parking but well worth it. This place is highly patrolled!!!
