Need a Break?

Well the city of Concord feels they do.Concord city offices will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 25, for a furlough day, and Nov. 26-27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.Additional furlough days are set for Dec. 24 and Dec. 28-31.Offices closed include the Civic Center complex, Public Works Department; Engineering Department,Concord Senior Center, The Police Southern District Office,and police headquarters Willow Pass Community Center will be closed except for evening classes Nov. 25. Concord Community Pool,will be will be closed Nov. 25-26, but open holiday hours from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 27. Diablo Creek Golf Course will close at 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day..These Furlough days are due to the fact of budget cuts. City employees are having to take 13 unpaid days off to account for a 5% pay cut. Concord is not the only place effected many city's are feeling the money pinch due to housing markets dropping and overall city spending being very low......... A's-SmokeScreen-A's ...............
