The Raptors of the Ridge

Diet: Carnivore
Average lifespan in the wild: 21 years
Size: Body, 18 to 26 in (45 to 65 cm); Wingspan, 3.8 to 4.3 (1.1 to 1.3 m)
Weight: 24.3 to 51.5 oz (690 to 1,460 g)
....  Red-tails prefer open areas, such as fields or  desert valleys, with high perching places nearby from which they can watch for prey. This is why  I think the Lime Ridge pair have chosen to hunt and live in their particular sector of  the ridge...It has all of the above and hundreds of Ground Squirrels ... Hawks have even embraced human habitats. They often perch on telephone poles and take advantage of the open spaces along the roadside to spot and seize mice, ground squirrels, rabbits, reptiles, or other types of prey...Often you will see one of the Lime Ridge Red Tailed Hawks perched high in a tree or on a pole at the top of Ygnacio valley road... here is a link to more about the Hunting Grounds...locally of these Raptors...

Smokey I am outraged that you would take that tone with one of your readers! I have a good mind to go around in a huff for the rest of the day. Fortunately it is night, so I won't have to huff that long. Also, I must inform you that hawks have never embraced human habitats. (they have no arms)
