The Shell Ridge Open Space

Most of you probably have no idea where the Shell Ridge Open Space is or maybe have never even heard of it ,but  if you enjoy the great outdoors and are a local in this valley then you need to know about this place...The entrance is located just past Northgate Highschool out Oak Grove road  on the right...The sign says Shell Ridge Open Space and "Borges Ranch" because the Borges Family chose the beautiful Shell Ridge Valley for their home site  over 100 years ago back in 1901...Much of our local wildlife lives in the wooded hills and valleys of Shell Ridge...The Coyote is comfortable here in the seclusion of these hills where he can freely hunt the ground squirrels which populate the entire Shell Ridge area by the thousands...Hawks,Deer,Bobcats,,raccoon,skunk,rattlesnakes,possums,and many other kinds of local wildlife including Mountain Lions all call the Shell Ridge Open Space their home...If you walk on the trails here you will almost certainly get to see some of the local wildlife that lives here...click on the photos to blow them up...enjoy....Smokey
